What is a charge pump? How does a charge pump work?

A charge pump is a DC-DC converter that utilizes a capacitor as the energy storage element and is mostly used to produce an output voltage that is larger than the input voltage or to produce a negative output voltage. The electrical efficiency of a charge pump circuit is very high, about 90-95%, and the circuit is fairly simple. Charge pumps utilize a number of switching elements to control the voltage connected to the capacitor. This can be used, for example, in conjunction with a two-stage cycle where a l....

What is Operational Amplifier: Definition, Principle of Operation and Applications

An operational amplifier is a circuit unit with high amplification. In practical circuits, it is usually combined with a feedback network to form a functional module. It is an amplifier with a special coupling circuit and feedback. The output signal can be the result of mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction or differentiation and integration of the input signal. It is named “operational amplifier” because it was first used in analog computers to perform mathematical operations. [....

Understanding the Input Impedance Limitation of Inverting Amplifiers and Its Impact on Signal Amplification

We all know that an inverting amplifier can amplify an input signal inversely, this is very basic knowledge, and those who have studied electric circuits generally know it. Inverting amplifier formula for Vout = - Vin * Rf / Rin. According to the known formula, can easily complete the design, but inverting amplifiers are born with a small defect, inverting the input amplifier's input impedance is not very high, and we generally hope that the amplifier's input impedance in the circuit design should be high, ....
