Comprehensive Guide to Band-Pass Filters: Principles, Design, Applications, and Loss Optimization

I. What is a Band-Pass Filter? An electrical filter known as a band-pass filter (BPF) attenuates signals at frequencies below and above a given range while permitting signals in that range to pass. In order to ensure that only signals within a specific band can pass, while signals at other frequencies are attenuated or blocked, it combines the features of a low-pass filter, which permits low frequencies to pass, and a high-pass filter, which permits high frequencies to pass. II.Key Parameters of Band Pass....

Implementing Floating Point Algorithms in FPGA or ASICS

Floating point is the most popular data type for modeling and simulating algorithms with high computational accuracy. Traditionally, when you want to deploy these floating-point algorithms to FPGA or ASIC hardware, your only option is to convert each data type in the algorithm to fixed point to save hardware resources and speed up computation. Converting to fixed-point reduces mathematical precision, and sometimes it can be difficult to strike the right balance between word length and mathematical precision....

RJ Connector：Type, Structure and Parameter

Since AT&T first introduced modular connectors, also known as RJ connectors, in the 1960s, they have been widely used in telecom and datacom applications. In order to create what is now known as the Registered Jack (RJ) registration system, which standardizes the wire pattern, signaling characteristics, and physical structure of the connector itself, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) further standardized this interconnect solution in the 1970s. In order to accommodate variations in connection pack....

Why PCB ground and metal chassis with a resistive connection?

Electronics grounding is a clichéd topic, the main content of this article is the metal casing and circuit board grounding issues. We often see some of the system design will be the PCB board ground (GND) and metal enclosure (EGND) between the usual use of a high-voltage capacitor C1 (1 ~ 100nF / 2KV) in parallel with a large resistor R1 (1M) connection. So why this design? Fig. 1 Schematic diagram Figure. 2 Actual PCB The role of capacitors From the EMS (Electromagnetic Immunity) point of view, ....

Why are PCBs deformed? What are the hazards?

PCB deformation risks Circuit boards that are not flat will result in incorrect placement in the automated surface mount line, make it impossible to mount or insert components into the board's holes and surface mount pads, and possibly even cause the automatic insertion machine to malfunction. It is challenging to cut component feet neatly and flat once they have been welded into the circuit board. The assembly factory experienced board warping, which is also quite frustrating, because the board cannot be i....

Common-Emitter Amplifier Explained: Key Features, Working Principle, and Applications

What is Common-Emitter Amplifier? A common-emitter amplifier is a type of transistor amplifier circuit that is widely used in electronic circuits. Its name comes from the way the signal is input and output: the signal is input from the base and emitter of the transistor, and output from the collector and emitter. Because the emitter acts as a common ground in the circuit, this circuit is called a common emitter amplifier circuit. This circuit is known for its high voltage gain, large current amplification, ....

What Is an FPGA? Everything You Need to Know About the Magic of Programmable Chips

The Field Programmable Gate Array, or FPGA, is a device that is frequently referred to as the "LEGO of hardware" in the field of electronics. It may be operating covertly inside gadgets all around you, including 5G base stations, driverless cars, and even spacecraft, even if you are unaware of its name. This article will explain what an FPGA is, how it functions, its applications, and how it stacks up against more conventional devices like MCUs and ASICs. 1. What Is an FPGA? Explained in One Simple Senten....

Explained: How to Properly Select Resistors and Capacitors in Bootstrap Circuits

The industry constantly seeks to reduce the cost of the driver stage in some low-cost applications, particularly for some 600V low-power IGBTs. Because of the circuit's affordability and ease of use, bootstrap power supplies have thus gained popularity as a means of supplying power to high-voltage gate driver (HVIC) circuits. The Operation of Bootstrap Circuits Only a 15–18V power source is needed to activate the inverter's driving stage in the bootstrap circuit below. The drivers of the top half-br....

PCBA Manufacturing Guide: From Basics to Advanced Soldering, Testing & Inspection

What is PCBA? Modern electronics are built on printed circuit board assemblies, or PCBAs. It takes a bare Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and populates it with essential electronic components—resistors, capacitors, ICs, and connectors—into a fully functional circuit. But what goes into PCBA, and how is the industry evolving to meet new challenges? Let's explore. PCB vs PCBA Printed circuit boards, or PCBs, are unfinished boards without any electronic components but containing copper lines. PCBA (P....
