Increasing the Reliability of Data Center AI Network Interconnects: Using a New 224 Gb/s Sampling Oscilloscope - Optimizing 1.6T Optical Transceiver Test Efficiency: For Development and Manufacturing of Next-Generation Data Center AI Cluster Optical Interconnects

Reducing the Complexity and Time of Test Setup: Integrated Clock Recovery Features Up to 120 GBaud of data rates
-Enhanced capacity to produce transceivers: by optimizing the use of test assets and streamlining the automation and configuration of test systems

The single-optical-channel DCA-M and dual-optical-channel DCA-M sampling oscilloscopes are two new oscilloscopes for 1.6T optical transceiver testing that were announced by Keysight Technologies (NYSE: KEYS). These instruments support data rates up to 120 GBaud and are specifically made to meet the R&D and manufacturing needs of next-generation optical interconnects for data center AI clusters. They are made to meet the demanding requirements of 1.6T transceiver optical testing with high optical measurement sensitivity and integrated clock recovery.

For R&D and manufacturing of optical testing of 1.6T transceivers in next-generation data centers and AI clusters, Keysight Technologies N1093 DCA-M sampling oscilloscopes offer superior optical measurement accuracy and optimized test efficiency to maximize the reliability of 224 Gb/s data center networks.

Due to the extremely high data rates and strict signal integrity requirements, the rapid implementation of AI data center networks using 1.6T optical interconnects poses major measurement issues. Engineers need precise test equipment with high sensitivity, low noise, and great bandwidth in order to assess and validate transceiver performance under a variety of operating situations. In order to ensure high throughput and yield while satisfying data center requirements and industry standards, automated testing during the manufacturing process needs to be accurate, scalable, and efficient in order to validate a large number of crucial parameters.

The 1.6T portfolio of end-to-end solutions from Keysight Technologies, which includes the new DCA-M Sampling Oscilloscopes, is intended to meet the increased transmission rates needed for AI and machine learning. The following characteristics of the DCA-M Sampling Oscilloscopes allow for high-speed optical signal analysis at up to 240 Gbps/channel:

Measurement margins are maximized by high sensitivity, low jitter, wide precision bandwidth, and sophisticated measurement science. Critical measurement margins are maintained at the extremely high data rates and difficult signal conditions of 1.6T transceivers with less than 15 µW of optical channel noise and less than 90 fs of intrinsic time jitter. This allows R&D and manufacturing engineers to meet strict requirements, guarantee design reliability, and increase throughput.

Reduce the complexity of the test system and guarantee compliance:

The DCA-M can recover clocks at full data rates as needed by standards thanks to its integrated clock recovery support of up to 120 GBd, which does away with the need to design and route distinct sub-rate signals for clocking.

Enhance production test throughput and efficiency:

The DCA-M and FlexOTO Optical Test Optimization software work together smoothly to optimize instrument utilization and test efficiency while lowering overall test costs. The industry-leading FlexDCA Measurement Science Platform, upon which FlexOTO is built, guarantees the best possible optical waveform analysis.

According to TeraHop's chief marketing officer Osa Mok, "Keysight Technologies has been a dependable partner in providing the industry with high-performance and high-quality test technology." The introduction of 1.6 Tbps optical solutions for next-generation AI computing network applications will be sped up with the aid of this new line of Keysight Technologies sample oscilloscopes.

"Improving time-to-market and performance standards for R&D and manufacturing solutions is achieved by empowering next-generation data centers and AI clusters," stated Dr. Joachim Peerlings, vice president of Networking and Data Center Solutions at Keysight Technologies. We are pleased to assist the sector in developing AI infrastructure, laying the groundwork for upcoming generations to create in novel and revolutionary ways.
