Hopewind Selects Wolfspeed to Power the Future of Wind Energy with Advanced Silicon Carbide Technology

11 November 2025, Durham, North Carolina, USA; Shenzhen, China; Shanghai, China — Wolfspeed, the global leader in innovative silicon carbide power solutions, today announced a collaboration with Hopewind, a global innovator in renewable energy solutions. The two companies are jointly advancing the development of next-generation wind power solutions by integrating Wolfspeed's cutting-edge 2.3 kV LM Pack modules into Hopewind's advanced, highly modular and lightweight 950 Vac wind power converters.

As one of China's largest wind power converter suppliers, Hopewind employs an innovative approach to its wind power solutions: utilising silicon carbide (SiC) devices and high-reliability packaging technology to achieve a 38% increase in power density and a high switching frequency of up to 6 kHz, significantly enhancing efficiency and reliability. The collaboration between Wolfspeed and Hopewind is expected to accelerate the development of next-generation wind power solutions for the global market.
Wolfspeed's silicon carbide solutions are driving the transition towards more sustainable and cost-effective next-generation energy systems. The company's 2.3 kV LM Pack modules deliver significant system advantages, including simplified design, enhanced efficiency, increased power density, and improved reliability – critical factors that reduce overall system costs for large-scale wind applications while delivering superior performance. The 2.3 kV LM Pack module is projected to achieve commercial mass production availability in early 2026.
This collaboration between Wolfspeed and Hopewind marks a pivotal milestone in the wind power sector's ongoing advancement, helping pave the way for cleaner, more efficient energy solutions worldwide.
