Infineon Partners with Everest Lithium to Create Next-Generation Battery Management System

Munich, Germany, December 18, [2024] - Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY), the global semiconductor leader in power systems and the Internet of Things (IoT), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with lithium battery manufacturer Everest Lithium-Integrated Corp. The two companies will work together to provide integrated battery management system solutions for the automotive market. According to the MoU, Infineon will provide a complete set of silicon solutions, including microcontroller units (MCUs), battery equalization and monitoring ICs, power management ICs, drivers, MOSFETs, CAN and sensor products. By adopting these solutions, Everlight's battery management system will have a high degree of safety, reliability and more optimized costs, and will be able to more accurately monitor, protect and optimize the battery performance of Electric Vehicles (EVs), improving the user's driving experience and the vehicle's energy efficiency.

Andreas Doll, senior vice president and general manager of the Intelligent Power product line at Infineon Technologies, said: “The rapid growth of electrification is driving the need for advanced battery solutions. Infineon Battery Management System (BMS) solutions

Electrification and battery management systems are key focus areas for Infineon. Infineon has a complete portfolio of battery management systems, including wired and wireless BMS solutions. The wired BMS solutions are based on products such as AURIX, PMICs, equalization and monitoring supervisory ICs. TLE9012DQU and TLE9015DQU provide optimized cell monitoring and equalization solutions that enable lean and cost-effective designs by combining excellent measurement performance, higher quality standards and application robustness. Both ICs are suitable for a wide range of industrial, consumer and automotive battery applications and meet ASIL-D safety requirements. The wireless BMS solution utilizes Infineon's latest CWY89829 low-power chip to create an interconnected mesh network that achieves maximum node connection speeds while maintaining sensor efficiency. In addition to this, Infineon offers reliable LV MOSFET and EiceDRIVER solutions, including the 2ED2410 and 2ED4820 products designed for future applications such as electrification of 24V/48V BMS main switches.
